Cannibalistic concepts in regards to Saint Nicholas Day

Hi, it's me again! (wow, two times a week)

Just a little bit revulsion for the upcoming Saint Nicholas Day!

Don't read any further if you're squeamish )

Fate

The older I'm getting (and I'm only 20) I'm believing more and more in fate (or karma or whatever you like to call it). Nowadays it even includes the handling of technology. My dad for instance has the distinct feeling that my laptop is cheating during card games. Apparently it wants my dad to lose. Well, I think the things you are believing in, shape your views of the world and what you actually face in day-to-day life. So maybe my dad creates his world, creates the ever winning computer. I mean, he could think of it as a program, which statistically wins a certain amount of times, instead he thinks the laptop is – well not sentient, but cheating nonetheless (how you can do that, without being aware of things, I have no idea, but maybe the programmers made him a winner).
But I'm rambling, my dad and his superstitions have nothing to do with my new view of the world.
I have this camera, you know? It is a year old now and works perfectly (or at least it should). A few weeks ago I went to London to see John Barrowman performing in La Cage Aux Folles. For that I charged it, so it wouldn't give up on me at the least convenient moment.
At the end of the show – which was just brilliant, by the way – John announced, he was going to collect money for children in needs and would give autographs and pictures to those, giving a bit more than a few pounds. It was heaven – or at least supposed to be heaven. When I wanted to take a picture of him, my camera. Didn't. Work. At. All.
You know, he would even lay his arm around you, to have a picture taken with him and my stupid camera didn't work! God, I'm still angry about that. At least I got the autograph.
Now I need that thing for my creative writing class, and when I tried to use it after charging it up again, it suddenly works. How the heck is that even possible?
Well, obviously fate. It's not like I try to console myself that I didn't get a picture. To explain my issues in short: I miss acting a lot (did it in school) and the more I'm getting involved with university, the more my dreams slip away. At least it feels that way. So everything to do with acting (and actors themselves) is kinda a sore subject for me at the moment. I mean I really adore John Barrowman but seeing him interacting with his fans was hard enough (I'm petty and pathetic, am I not?). Maybe fate intervened so I wouldn't get even more wistful and sad or something. Right now there is some (temporal) distance between that weekend and today, so I can think about it with a clearer head. I am again able to enjoy the memories of the musical without feeling miserable, which I couldn't immediately after the show.
So, fate! Since I already think, everything has it's purpose, it isn't such a big step towards fate. Maybe I don't see it the normal way. We are still responsible for our life but maybe we create or own fate with our thoughts and feelings and actions. I'm not yet sure about it myself.

Rating: PG-13

Let there be light, a Torchwood fanfiction

Author: SmartKIN (plasmagun89)

Rating: PG-13

Warning: Crossover with Doctor Who (no spoiler there)

Spoiler: Children of the Earth Day 4

Summary: A fix-it for Day 4. Because it needs to be fixed.

A/N: I completely adore science fiction, because only here you can pull off something like this (well, not counting fairy tales and fantasy).

Ah yes, it isn’t beta read and I’m no native speaker. It probably contains a ton of gruesome mistakes but I kinda had no time to find someone willing. If you would like to do so, please tell me :D

Rest In Peace, Stargate Atlantis

I'm feeling warm and sad and happy and angry all the same right now. It is highly disconcerning, so much I can tell you. Now, that the show is over after five great years, I feel kinda homesick. No Rodney banter every weekend, no more of Shepprad's suicide mission, which the team has to stop, no more of his patented eyebrow looks, no more of Ronon's grumpy answeres, as scrace as they might be, no more of Teyla's great sense of mocking humour..

But I am still so happy as how everything turned out to be, actually. I knew that there was character bashing going on, because of Keller/McKay, but fortunately, I've not been looking much on fansites or journals lately, because I absolutely adore both of them. Of course, there is still my slashy brain, feeding me Sheppard/Rodney ideas, but I don't mind them being together at all.

I really hope the fandom survives the end of the show as a whole (even if I myself am at a point where I have no idea what to write anymore, because some people allready said it all xD), it would be a shame, really.

So. Thats everything I have to say right now.. still feeling sad, though.

Taste in Art Test

Soo, I did an art test xD And I have to admit, that what it says about me, is at least partly true.. I dodn't know about the traditional part, because I'm interested in thing nobody in my family seems to like but maybe they talk about your own roots as a person, as in, what you yourself made into roots for you.. well, it was fun at least!

Traditional, Vibrant, and Tasteful

7 Islamic, 6 Impressionist, 1 Ukiyo-e, -23 Cubist, -12 Abstract and 4 Renaissance!

Islamic art is developed from many sources: Roman, Early Christian, and Byzantine styles were taken over in early Islamic architecture; the architecture and decorative art of pre-Islamic Persia was of paramount significance; Central Asian styles were brought in with various nomadic incursions; and Chinese influences . Islamic art uses many geometical floral or vegetable designs in a repetitive pattern known as arabesque. It is used to symbolize the transcendent, indivisible and infinite nature of Allah.

People that like Islamic art tend to be more traditional people that appreciate keeping patterns that they learned and experienced from their past. It is not to say that they are not innovative personalities, they just do not like to let go of their roots. They like to put new ideas into details and make certain that they will work before sharing them with others. Failure is not something they like to think about because they are more interested in being successful and appreciated for their intelligence. These people can also be or like elaborate things in their life as long as they are tasteful. They tend to prefer geometric patterns and vibrant colors.

Well..

when you see this, post a quote from Stargate Atlantis in your journal.

McKAY: You sure you can do this?
SHEPPARD: Fly the city?
McKAY: What else could I possibly be talking about?

I don't know why, but lately I'm always thinking about this quote xD

SGA 5.06 The Shrine

I think I will just squee for a little bit…

Two days ago I talked about enjoying everything MGM will throw at us in the future as I’ll possibly be able to and now such a great episode. This is why I love SciFi and SGA so much. Thank you guys!!

I actually cried so much I thought I’ll melt away. This is me, silly and emotional.

It was a very beautiful end and there wasn’t really anything in this ep that I didn’t like. I really can say that this is my favorite ep so far. God it was so great.

Bad News For SGA

MGM wants to end SGA after this season.

My first reaction was Huh? WTF? But I think I'm totally shocked, I can't really believe what they are doing. I mean.. huh? I can't belive what they are about to do, after the end of SG-1.

But I guess it is better to end the show, when it is really damn perfect and everyone still adores it. Because there are still fans who write awsome stories and they are about to continue! In my oppinion SG-1 season 8 to 10 were lame compared to 1-7 and it really wasn't  fun to watch them anymore, they somewhat waited to long to finish it and at least this isn't happenig to SGA.

I will certainly miss the show a great deal, mostly McKay. The team moments as well and the science (other dimension, paralel universes and time travel in particular..) Well and peolpe like Zelenka and Lorne. God I will miss them all so much *sigh*

I hope the movies they want to make will be a lot better than the ones they did after SG-1..

Well, I guess I will be sad for the next.. well MONTHS but maybe this is the muse I need to write some fics.l

Joe Flanigan

I did just realize something. You know, I clicked through youtube, in order to see clips and episodes from the movies and shows Joe Flanigan has played in (as well as David Hewlett) to be able to write a few Hewlingan fanfictions. And what I realized is, that Joe Flanigan makes out with women a LOT. I mean, is he just hired to kiss the hot single women in a show? Really: Cupid, Profiler, Sherman's March, Murphy Brown.. yeah, he is very hot and who actually doesn't want to kiss him? But still, isn't it a little sad that half of his projects involve just making out? It really just about hit me.

Well, whatever, I just whanted to tell *somebody* xD

Jumper

I've finally seen the movie too. What I did really like is Hayden Christensen. I love the way he acts looking all evil and sexy. He has such a wicked smile! *melt*
The idea of such a movie is great too, I mean people who can transport themselves everywhere and these electroshock weapons from the Paladins.. my whump-seeking heart was very satisfied.

BUT (here it comes) the plot itself was kinda lame, they could have done way better! And what was it with that crazy camera work? You couldn't even follow the plot because it was all crazy moving forwards backwards sidewards.. I was all OMG what are they doing? Are they trying to make us all sick or what?

Anyways, like I said, the idea is great and Hayden Christensen as well as Samual L. Jackson were acting great!

24 Day 6, 8:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.

First of all: Yes! Milo + Nadia! *hugs* I love them both. They are a nice couple. Milo is so great when he is around her. That was really sweet.
And Martouf plays a part! I don't know his name, he is the 'friend' of Doyle. Well, he plays Martouf in Stargate, so I like him too. xD And I just realised that Anatoly Markov was played by the actor who played Denethor in LotR... strange.
What I originally wanted to say is, that Jack is really cute when he talks to people with special needs. That Brady guy. So sweet! I bet Jack's good with children too. One has to write a fanfiction about something like that!

Well and I have to say, that I don't like Vice President Daniels at all. He is such a fanatic. It doesn't matter what everyone says he wants to launch this attack against the Middle East! He acts like a child. At least he doesn't stamp his foot on the floor.  I hope Wayne can stop him.

And, generally speaking, why do the Russians allways have to be the bad ones? Or the Arabs? It is just allways them. There are other countries out there.. *sigh*

24 Season 6

I'm totally into 24 right now. I've just seen 12 episodes of the new season, well new for guys like me who live in Austria (and Germany ;)) and it is just sooo ingenious! I mean.. Jack suffers from his ordeal in China and I just want to hug him all the time. He seems so broken but carries on notheless. He's really great! I love him very much. I was completely shocked when Gream AND Phillip outed themselves. The scene were Jack offers himself for Josh's life and has his fathers gun pointed to his head was very enthralling!

But I'm sad. They killed off Assad. He was a nice - no great - character and they killed him off. I'm just waiting for Aaron to arrive to make everything better xD

Anyway, I'm going back to writing my fanfic now. Assad's not dead in there. Just so you know. He's very much alive xD

Okay, I'm stopping now. Over and out.
